Washington Redskins RB Matt Jones suffers separated shoulder in preseason game
Redskins running back Matt Jones left the preseason game against the Jets Friday night with a separated shoulder, the team announced.
Jones had rushed for 31 yards on 7 carries. He came down hard on his left shoulder after the final carry and headed right to the sideline.
After x-rays he returned to the sidelines with his arm in a sling.
Jones is expected to be the showcase back in the Redskins’ running attack, especially with Alfred Morris now playing in Dallas.
Redskins coach Jay Gruden called it a "slight separation" and "hopefully, it won't be too long."
Jones is expected to go through further tests on Saturday to determine the severity.
