Washington Redskins president Bruce Allen mispronounced quarterback Kirk Cousins’ name multiple times in an interview discussing contract negotiations that appeared on the team’s website.
As many as six times, Allen can be heard incorrectly referring to Cousins as “Kurt” instead of “Kirk.”
Cousins will play this season under the franchise tag, the first QB to play under the tag in two consecutive seasons, while making $23.9 million this year.
A Redskins spokesperson claimed to ESPN that the mispronunciation was due to Allen’s accent.
