Saints' Jon Dorenbos diagnosed with heart condition, will have surgery

New Orleans Saints long snapper Jon Dorenbos has been diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition and placed on the NFI list, coach Sean Payton revealed on Friday

Dorenbos was discovered to have an aortic aneurysm during a physical exam, and it will require immediate surgery. 

Dorenbos was traded from the Eagles (where he spent 11 seasons) to the Saints during the preseason.

Aortic aneurysms resulted in about 152,000 deaths in 2013, up from 100,000 in 1990, according to a Global Burden of Disease study.
