New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson was taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons Sunday night but "is doing very well this morning," a team spokesperson said in a statement Monday.

Benson, who also owns the New Orleans Pelicans of the NBA, attended Sunday's game between the Saints and the Chicago Bears, which New Orleans won, 20-12. But shortly thereafter, the 90-year-old experienced what senior vice president of communications and broadcasting Greg Bensel described in a statement as "some brief weakness."

"He was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. He will be home (Tuesday) and back in the office later this week," Bensel said in the statement.

Benson, who purchased the Saints in 1985, also attended the team's Hall of Fame banquet on Friday night and the Pelicans' 123-101 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night.
