LOS ANGELES — Defensive end Cam Jordan is looking for a quarterback to come play for the New Orleans Saints, and he is trying any pitch he can to come play alongside new head coach Dennis Allen.

The Saints got off to a blazing start in 2021, starting the season at 4-2 before Jameis Winston suffered a torn ACL and MCL damage during the win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 31.

The Saints then had a three-man rotation of Taysom Hill, Trevor Siemian and Ian Book at the helm for the rest of the season, going 4-6 without Winston and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Now with Winston as an unrestricted free agent, Jordan is attempting to get a top tier quarterback to come to New Orleans, just in case the Saints are unable to re-sign Winston. The Saints are projected to be more than $75 million over the salary cap next year, which could complicate any pursuit of a signal-caller.

MOVE OVER, TOM BRADY: Rams' Andrew Whitworth relishes new status as NFL's oldest active player

"I don't know who that quarterback is gonna be. We've got Taysom Hill, Jameis hopefully we'll be under contract soon, I don't know where we stand with that. If not, I started recruiting early. I've been recruiting, tweeting, sub-tweeting, in person to anybody and everybody," Jordan told Paste BN Sports. "If you have some rift with your head coach, come mess with ours."

Quarterbacks Jordan mentioned include names like Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers, who have both openly criticized their team's management.

"Bring your favorite receiver. I take Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and Michael Thomas. I'm sure they're gonna argue over who's No. 1, but they're No. 1 in my heart. We'll be better having two of the top three receivers in the game," Jordan continued.

Jordan also said he sees Wilson and Rodgers in "black and gold."

But if there was any quarterback Jordan could have?

"Lamar Jackson, because he hasn't signed a contract," he said.

The Ravens quarterback will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of next season.

As a bonus, Jordan even offered who could replace Tom Brady as the Buccaneers quarterback.

"Jimmy Garoppolo," he said. "I would welcome him with both arms."
