New Orleans Saints superstar Cameron Jordan has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after his big game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In the game, Jordan also set the Saints franchise sacks record. He surpassed franchise great and Pro Football Hall of Famer Rickey Jackson with his 115.5 career sack.

Jordan brought down Eagles quarterback Gardner Minshew three times last Sunday afternoon, which played a huge part in New Orleans pulling off the upset on the road.

It was his sixth career three-sack game and the 27th multi-sack game in his NFL tenure.

"That's awesome," Saints head coach Dennis Allen said regarding Jordan's career accomplishment. "Cam's been a great ambassador for our organization, for the entire National Football League. He's been a great player and probably an even better person, so I couldn't be happier for a guy. It's an awesome accomplishment."

Jordan has worked hard and toiled for years on some gnarly defenses with the Saints, so it's great to see him earn this kind of recognition after reaching such an important career milestone.

This season, Jordan has 59 tackles, 14 quarterback hits, 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.

He'll look to add onto his career total in this week's season finale with the Carolina Panthers.
