Richard Sherman, John Schneider downplay Seahawks' injury report gaffe

The Seattle Seahawks could be in hot water after head coach Pete Carroll recently revealed that star Richard Sherman had been dealing with a knee injury for several weeks ... after the season was over. However, the cornerback's MCL issues were not disclosed on injury reports leading up to the team's playoff ouster.
Sherman, who has never missed a game during his six-year NFL career, is attending Pro Bowl festivities in Orlando this week.
"It wasn't that serious, so there's nothing to address," he told NFL Media on Friday, noting other teams have committed similar infractions without incurring a major penalty.
"I don't think the team should be punished, no. There's been a number of teams that have been warned so we'll see what happens."
General manager John Schneider tried to downplay Carroll's gaffe on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Thursday.
"Pete ... quite frankly, was sticking up for the different bumps and bruises and issues that Richard had," Schneider said. "But we feel like we didn't do anything that was malicious at all."
Per an ESPN report, the Seahawks' failure to list Sherman's knee problem could cost them a second-round pick in April's draft.
"Obviously something I can't really get into, but we feel like we didn't do anything that was out of the norm or trying to avoid any rules by any stretch of the imagination," Schneider said, adding Sherman "was a total stud about" dealing with the injury.
