Seahawks eliminate Cowboys from postseason chase in Ezekiel Elliott's return
Ezekiel Elliott's return wasn't enough for the Dallas Cowboys.
The Seattle Seahawks eliminated the defending NFC East champs from playoff contention with a 21-12 win on Sunday while keeping their own hopes alive.
Elliott had 97 rushing yards in his first game back from a six-game suspension that stemmed from allegations of domestic violence. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw two interceptions, including the go-ahead pick-six by Seahawks cornerback Justin Coleman.
Dallas had a chance to cut the deficit to one score with a first-and-goal midway through the fourth quarter, but a holding penalty and sack pushed the offense back before Dan Bailey missed a field goal. Bailey missed another attempt with one minute left.
Russell Wilson was held to just 93 passing yards but threw scoring strikes to Jimmy Graham and Doug Baldwin.
The Seahawks, who host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17, can only seize a wild-card berth after the Los Angeles Rams clinched the NFC West earlier in the day with a win over the Tennessee Titans.
