Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell undergoes surgery for groin injury

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell underwent surgery for a groin injury sustained during the team's playoff run, he confirmed on Twitter.
Bell posted pictures of himself early Monday morning in a hospital gown.
He later confirmed the procedure had taken place and said he was feeling well.
The Pro Bowl running back aggravated the injury in the AFC Championship Game and was held out for most of the Steelers' 36-17 loss to the New England Patriots, finishing with just 20 rushing yards on six carries. Bell revealed afterward he had been playing through the injury for "a couple weeks." He never appeared on the Steelers' injury report, however, and an NFL investigation into the team's reporting procedures followed.
Last season, Bell became the first running back in NFL history to average 100 rushing yards and 50 receiving yards per game, finishing with an NFL-best 157 yards from scrimmage per game in 12 contests.
The Steelers placed the franchise tag on Bell in February, which would pay him approximately $12 million if he signs the one-year tender.
