Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier watched his first practice since suffering a spinal cord injury during a game last month

Shazier, in a wheelchair, shared a photo via Instagram on Wednesday from his visit to the UPMC Sports Performance Complex. He was injured making a tackle against the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 4 and later underwent spinal stabilization surgery.

"It’s great to be back for practices and meetings," Shazier wrote. "Just to be able to feel a part of it means the world. So I’m working harder than I ever have to get back. I've been making strides over the past month and continue to make progress. Taking it day-by-day, but I’m far from done. The Lord has not finished his work yet."

The Steelers have not disclosed the details of Shazier's injury. In an interview last week, his father said Shazier had regained feeling in his legs.

"I want to say thank you to the fans and Steelers Nation for the prayers," Shazier wrote. "If it wasn’t for my family, friends and your prayers, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
