It doesn't appear as though the Pittsburgh Steelers will get the benefit of facing a backup quarterback in their Week 4 game against the New York Jets.

According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, the New York Jets should have starting quarterback Zach Wilson back when the Jets host the Steelers on the road in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Wilson suffered a meniscus injury during the preseason but didn't go on IR while he recovered so he could continue to practice with the team. The Jets have never been in any rush to get Wilson back on the field with veteran Joe Flacco starting in his place.

The Jets are coming off a 27-12 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday, while the Steelers suffered a loss of their own to the Cleveland Browns Thursday night.

Flacco has a 10-11 career record against the Steelers, so Pittsburgh likely would have preferred him over the second-year quarterback Wilson.

As a rookie, Wilson started 13 games and threw for 2,334 yards in 2021. He was 3-10 as a starter.
