ATLANTA — Rob Gronkowski, the New England Patriots star tight end and resident party animal, has indicated he no longer plans to attend Shaquille O’Neal’s Fun House Super Bowl here Friday night.

Instead, Gronkowski suggested, he’ll lay low with the rest of the Patriots in the final 48 hours before their game against the Los Angeles Rams Sunday in Super Bowl LIII.

“All the hard work we’ve put in, the dedication, I mean, why blow it by trying to go out and do something, like, you know?’’ Gronkowski said. “It’s just one more week of all the hard work and dedication.’’

At Super Bowl Opening Night Monday, Gronkowski said he planned to attend Shaq’s party that will held here at The Battery.

“Tell him I’ll be there, baby,’’ Gronkowski said at the time. “I’ll bet he’ll get a little crazy, a little excited.’’

But on Wednesday, Gronkowski indicated he has reconsidered the decision and will skip the party.

“That was tough,’’ Gronkowski said with a rueful smile. “But tell Shaq I said hello.’’
