The first 284 NFL games of the 2024 season are in the history books, and we've arrived at the finish line. Game 285. This means we are left with two remaining contenders looking to lift the Lombardi Trophy.

When the season kicked off in September, 32 teams set out to play in New Orleans in Super Bowl 59. At the start of the postseason, 14 teams advanced for a chance, and three weeks later, the Super Bowl matchup was determined. Now, just 60 minutes remain before crowning a champion.

Here is who will compete for that honor in the 2025 Super Bowl.

Who is in the Super Bowl?

The Philadelphia Eagles will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl after they walloped the Washington Commanders in the NFC championship game.

Philadelphia soared past Washington with a 55-23 win, setting itself up for a second Super Bowl appearance in the last three years. The Eagles are clicking on all cylinders. Saquon Barkley has been the constant driving force. The first team All-Pro overall totaled 118 rushing yards and three scores in the title game.

The Eagles will be up against the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, who will represent the AFC in Super Bowl 59.

The Chiefs made easy work of the Houston Texans in the divisional round and hosted the AFC championship game for the sixth time in the last seven years. They faced a familiar foe in the Buffalo Bills who they took down 32-29.

Kansas City will play in the Super Bowl for the fifth time in the last six seasons. The Chiefs are looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Lombardi Trophies.

It's a Super Bowl 57 rematch between the two franchises. Philadelphia will look to avenge the defeat from two years ago behind its potent offense and stout defense.

Where is the Super Bowl in 2025?

The Super Bowl will be played at the home of the Saints – Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

This is the eighth time the venue will host the Super Bowl. The last one was in 2013, when the Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 34-31, in Super Bowl 47.

How many times have the Eagles been in the Super Bowl?

This year's game will mark the Eagles' fifth Super Bowl appearance. They are 1-3 in the previous four games, losing the last one to the Chiefs.

Philadelphia's only Super Bowl win came in 2018 when they defeated Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

How many times have the Chiefs been in the Super Bowl?

Super Bowl 59 will be the Chiefs' seventh Super Bowl appearance in franchise history, and they're 4-2 in their previous six games.

Kansas City won Super Bowls 58, 57, 54 and 4 against the 49ers, Eagles, 49ers and Minnesota Vikings, respectively. They lost Super Bowl 55 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the first Super Bowl to the Green Bay Packers.
