It's all led to this. Five months ago, the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens kicked off the 2024 NFL regular season. This Sunday, the Chiefs will close out the season in Super Bowl 59 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kansas City enjoyed a franchise-record 15 wins in the regular season to earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC bracket of the NFL playoffs. The Chiefs sat out the wild-card round before knocking out the Houston Texans in the divisional round. For the fourth time in the last five seasons, Kansas City faced off with Buffalo in the playoffs, this time the AFC championship game. The Chiefs beat the Bills to reach their third consecutive Super Bowl.

Philadelphia entered the 2024 NFL season with a new-look coaching staff. Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio were brought in to coordinate the offense and defense, respectively, and the results have been impressive. The Eagles won 12 of their final 13 regular season games behind a potent rushing attack on offense and one of the best defenses in the league. Philadelphia knocked out Green Bay, the Los Angeles Rams and Washington en route to their second Super Bowl berth in three years.

These teams met on this stage two years ago in Super Bowl 57. The Chiefs won that contest 38-35 on a late field goal to earn their second Super Bowl title with coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Now, they'll face off again with history on the line. Kansas City can become the first team in league history to win three consecutive Super Bowls with a win Sunday over Philadelphia. Here's when the action will start.
