Eagles vs. Chiefs predictions, odds: Who do the experts pick to win Super Bowl 2025?

Super Bowl 59 is almost here, and the experts believe it's going to be another close game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles when they meet with the Lombardi Trophy on the line for the second time in three years. The Chiefs, of course, needed a late field goal to beat the Eagles in 2023 and the line heading into Super Bowl weekend this year suggests something similar.
Led by coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs are seeking the first three-peat of the Super Bowl era after a regular-season in which they emerged victorious after almost every close call, including a dramatic win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC championship game almost two weeks ago. The Eagles, meanwhile, will have running back Saquon Barkley when they face Kansas City this time, to go along with quarterback Jalen Hurts, the league's best defense and what many within the NFL consider the most talented roster in the league.
Will the magic of Mahomes and Reid be enough to push Kansas City to an elusive third-straight Super Bowl win? Or will the Eagles ground the Chiefs into submission and stave off this latest bid for history? Game picks are rolling in with Sunday's kickoff fast approaching. Here are some of the latest predictions, as well as updated odds and information on how to watch Super Bowl 59 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles:
Super Bowl 2025: Eagles vs. Chiefs predictions
Paste BN: Experts split
Paste BN's NFL staff picks all agree that Super Bowl 59 will go down to the wire, but they're evenly split as far as who will win. Here are their score predictions:
- Jacob Camenker: Chiefs 23, Eagles 20
- Joe Rivera: Chiefs 28, Eagles 24
- Ayrton Ostly: Eagles 28, Chiefs 25
- Tom Viera: Eagles 31, Chiefs 28
Camenker writes: "The Chiefs still look like they have the advantage in this game. They simply have a better chance of keeping Barkley in check throughout the evening than the Eagles do of limiting the Mahomes-Kelce connection."
ESPN: More pick Chiefs than Eagles
ESPN polled 67 of its NFL reporters and analysts about this year's Super Bowl winner and 41 people picked the Kansas City Chiefs. There were 26 people, meanwhile, who picked the Philadelphia Eagles to win.
Bill Barnwell writes: "If it's going to be a close game, I'm not sure how I can pick against Kansas City and watch 60 minutes of football without regretting my decision. There have just been too many times when the future Hall of Famers of this Chiefs dynasty ‒ Mahomes, Kelce, Jones, Reid and Spagnuolo ‒ have made that perfect adjustment or come up with that critical play when they have needed to thrive."
FOX Sports: Experts divided
FOX Sports polled 15 of its experts and analysts about Super Bowl 59. Eight chose the Chiefs to win and seven picked the Eagles.
Jason McIntyre writes: "The Eagles' defensive line has been utterly dominant all season, and I keep having flashbacks to Mahomes running for his life with a depleted offensive line against Tampa Bay. Obviously, the situation isn’t that bad this time around, but Vic Fangio has a strong unit — especially in the trenches. If Philly can get out to a lead, unleash the pass rush, and control the clock with Saquon, a comfortable win could unfold."
Sports Illustrated: Most pick Chiefs
Sports Illustrated gathered nine of its football writers and editors to predict the winner of Super Bowl 59. All but two picked the Kansas City Chiefs.
Andrew Brandt writes that the Eagles "are the most talented team in the league, and I’m not sure it’s close. That talent advantage, especially with offensive and defensive lines, will prove out in the Super Bowl. And, yes, I don’t think the game will be close. The Chiefs are the better story if they win, but they are not the best team in this game."
Sporting News: Chiefs 30, Eagles 27
Bill Bender writes: "The rematch will live up to the expectations. ... The Eagles have the best chance to knock the Chiefs off the throne, but we just cannot pick against a Mahomes-led team in this spot. Will a Harrison Butker field goal in the final minutes be the difference?"
