At a relatively early stage in his life and career, Patrick Mahomes has established himself not only as the best quarterback in the NFL, but one of the best players at his position in the history of professional football.

The Kansas City Chiefs star has been a dominant force since his first season as a starter in 2018, lighting up scoreboards, picking apart defenses and, above all else, winning — and doing it a lot.

The Texas Tech product has led the Chiefs to three Super Bowls, including each of the past two. In each of those wins, he earned Super Bowl MVP honors. He’s just as good in the regular season, too, with two NFL MVPs to his name.

On Sunday, he’s facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans. A victory there would give Kansas City its third-consecutive Super Bowl, something that has never previously been done in NFL history.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Mahomes’ lengthy list of achievements is how relatively quickly he has racked up all of these trophies and bullet points on his resume.

Here’s what you need to know about Mahomes’ age:

Mahomes is only 29 years old, and doesn’t turn 30 until Sept. 17.

If Mahomes and the Chiefs win Sunday against the Eagles, he’ll have more Super Bowls than anyone before their 30th birthday. He’s currently tied with Tom Brady and Troy Aikman for that distinction, with each player winning three Super Bowls.
