Seahawks' Jeremy Lane injured after Super Bowl pick

GLENDALE, Ariz. – Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane made the first big defensive play of the Super Bowl, but his first quarter interception was likely his last play of the game.

Lane appeared to suffer an arm or wrist injury after he was tackled near the Seattle sideline after intercepting New England quarterback Tom Brady near the goal line. Lane landed hand-first after being upended by New England receiver Julian Edelman.

Lane, the Seahawks' third cornerback, was driven off the field on a cart, and the team announced it was doubtful that he would return.

The Patriots picked on rookie cornerback Tharold Simon, Lane's replacement, on their first touchdown drive. Lane was in coverage on a long gain to Edelman and then on Brady's touchdown pass to Brandon LaFell.
