QB Zach Mettenberger released by Tennessee Titans

The Titans waived backqup quarterback Zach Mettenberger and three other players Monday to make room to sign undrafted rookies. Mettenberger had been winless in 10 starts the last two seasons.

To backup Marcus Mariota, the Titans signed veteran quarterback Matt Cassel in March and also have Alex Tanney, who played well in the regular season finale.

Those signed include fullback Sam Bergen, wide receiver Ben Roberts, defensive end Mike Smith and cornerback Bennett Okotcha.

Also cut were defensive end Iosia Iosia, tight end Kevin Greene and wide receiver Rashon Cease.
