Chicago Bears take lead late vs Titans on pick-6 after Will Levis' major gaffe
Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis was feeling the pressure in the fourth quarter of a tight game with the Chicago Bears on Sunday at Soldier Field, and he made a game-changing unforced error as a result.
On a third down play with 7:45 left, Levis tried to run away from a Bears blitz, then one-handed a soft toss directly to Bears defensive back Tyrique Stevenson.
Stevenson returned the interception 42 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. Chicago converted the two-point try for a 24-17 lead, its first of the day. The Bears then held on for the season-opening win.
Here's the ill-advised play, via the NFL and FOX.
Levis played a smart and efficient first half en route to a 17-0 lead in the second quarter. But the Titans offense struggled badly on their first six second-half drives, with four ending via a punt along with back-to-back turnovers. (Levis lost the ball on a sack-fumble on the drive before the pick-six.)
