After leading a comeback on what seemed to be an insurmountable lead, it's no surprise to see awards come the way of Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.

On Wednesday, Cousins was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Cousins led the Vikings to a 39-36 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. He completed 34 of 54 passes for 460 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. His dynamic performance was capped off with a 64-yard touchdown pass to Vikings running back Dalvin Cook late in the fourth quarter.

"It's a great play call, first of all. Incredibly well-blocked to get a screen like that off," Cousins said after the game. "Then it was Dalvin showing why he's Dalvin Cook. To be able to not only get a big play there but finish with a touchdown."

The first half wasn't great for Cousins, nor was it for any of the Vikings. They turned the ball over twice and were down 33-0 at halftime. That led to a massive chorus of boos from the home crowd.

However, the Vikings were inspired at halftime. Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson uttered a passionate speech in the locker room and the team responded.

"My thoughts weren't great at halftime," Cousins said. "I just felt like we were losing in a lot of ways, and it wasn't good. Patrick Peterson made the comment, 'We only need five touchdowns.' I didn't know if he was being sarcastic or what. When I looked at him, he was serious. I think his point was, 'We're not going to let them score anymore, so if you can get five touchdowns, that will be good enough.'"

The second half had Cousins on a different level. He threw 417 of his 460 total yards and all four touchdowns after halftime.

Cousins became the sixth player this season to win a player of the week award, joining Greg Joseph, joining Justin Jefferson, Za'Darius Smith, Kene Nwangwu, Greg Joseph and Ryan Wright.
