The 2022 regular season is over, which means that offseason discussion is going to become more prevalent, even as the Minnesota Vikings are in the thick of the playoff race.

One of the biggest discussion points of the 2023 offseason will be the potential extension of Justin Jefferson. NFL rules state that any player that has completed their third full season may start negotiating a contract extension the day after the regular season concludes.

Back in November, we broke down what a possible Jefferson contract extension could look like. There are many different forms that it can take and the Vikings will be exploring them all.

Jefferson finished the regular season with 128 receptions for 1,809 yards, leading the league in both categories. He broke several records in his third year in the league, including the franchise records for most receptions and yards in a season.

How the Vikings end up getting the extension structured will speak volumes about how they will be able to build the rest of their roster around their star receiver.
