Datsyuk weaves through four players to score (VIDEO)
NASHVILLE - Detroit Red Wings star Pavel Datsyuk was, well, just Pavel Datsyuk again on Tuesday night, scoring another highlight-reel goal.
He maneuvered the puck through four Nashville Predators players in open ice and rushed in to beat big goalie Pekka Rinne during a 4-3 overtime loss. A fifth Predators player was next to him when he began the end-to-end rush that tied the game 3-3.
"He's a joy for a coach to watch on film," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said of Datsyuk. "He's not a joy to coach against."
Red Wings coach Mike Babcock called Datsyuk "great. He was really good. Give him credit, he dug in."
Datsyuk, known for his puck wizardry, scored against St. Louis Blues goalie Jake Allen earlier this month with a shot from behind the net.
As dazzling as Datsyuk was on Tuesday, the Red Wings picked up just one point and have only two in their last four games.
"It would have been really nice if we had gotten that second (point)," Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg said. "But we take with us more positive stuff this time than we did the last game. Pavel was really good. He controlled the puck unbelievable. That goal is going to be a highlight goal for years."
