No hearing scheduled over Erik Johnson elbow
Colorado Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson was ejected from Saturday's game for elbowing Minnesota's Erik Haula, but that's the limit of the punishment against him.
The NHL said Sunday that no hearing was scheduled over the hit. There have been no suspensions since the start of preseason.
Haula was bringing the puck into the Avalanche zone and Johnson skated sideways to check him.
His elbow came up and appeared to catch Haula up high. Haula was down on the ice briefly, but got up and was able to continue the game. Johnson was given a five-minute penalty and a game misconduct.
Johnson had been suspended for two games in February for a slash that broke the hand of New York Islanders forward Frans Nielsen. That had been the first disciplinary action in his career.
