Panthers' Dmitry Kulikov offered in-person hearing for hit on Tyler Seguin

Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov received a major penalty and game misconduct for his hit that knocked Tyler Seguin out of Friday's game.

The punishment won't stop there.

The NHL has offered Kulikov an in-person hearing for upending Seguin, a hit that will cause Seguin to miss 2-4 weeks. Kulikov can be suspended for five or more games.

He waived the right and was to have a phone hearing on Monday morning.

As Seguin carried the puck into the offensive zone with about seven minutes remaining, Kulikov lowered himself and clipped the Stars forward, taking out his legs. Seguin needed to be helped off the ice.
