Kings activate Jeff Carter from injured list
The Los Angeles Kings made a key addition Saturday night without stepping again into the trade market.
The team activated forward Jeff Carter from the injured list after he had missed 55 games with a lower-body injury.
Carter, 33, hadn't played since Oct. 18 and had three points in six games this season.
He had four shots on goal but did not record a point in 17:36 of ice.
He has topped 25 goals eight times in his career, including 32 last season, and has 339 goals in 653 career games.

The Kings already have been busy in the trade market before Monday's deadline, acquiring Dion Phaneuf and Nate Thompson from the Ottawa Senators and Tobias Rieder from the Arizona Coyotes.
The Kings remained two points back of a playoff spot after falling to the Oilers 4-3.
