Stanley Cup pays visit to Capital Gazette's temporary offices

Tradition says each member of the NHL champion Washington Capitals gets to spend a day with the Stanley Cup.
For assistant equipment manager Craig "Woody" Leidig, there was one place he knew he had to take the iconic trophy.
So when his day finally arrived on Tuesday, the Annapolis resident made sure to stop by the temporary offices of the Capital Gazette -- the newspaper struck by tragedy last week when a gunman shot and killed five employees and wounded several others.
The reason: Leidig had just finished an interview with a reporter from the Capital last Thursday when the shooting rampage began.
So when he arrived with the Cup, the people in the makeshift newsroom took time out to pick up the trophy and take a few selfies.
The 45-minute visit with the newspaper staffers was the third stop on Leidig’s morning tour. Earlier in the day, he took it on a boat ride in the Chesapeake Bay and then for a visit to the U.S. Naval Academy.
