Devils searching for Rangers fan who appeared to sucker punch team employee in viral video

A New York Rangers fan appeared to sucker punch a member of the Devils' "Woo Crew" during New Jersey's Game 7 win Monday night. Now, the Devils are attempting to identify the fan.

Videos taken of the incident show the Rangers fan walking up toward the exit of the Prudential Center after the Devils took a 3-0 lead in the third period, en route to a series-clinching victory. Semaj McLeod, the "Woo Crew" member, was holding a sign and waving in the direction of the departing fan, who, as he approached McLeod, struck him in the head.

In a tweet, McLeod said he was punched twice by the fan, who has not yet been identified. A spokesperson for the Devils and the Prudential Center confirmed that McLeod is a Devils employee.

"We are aware of the incident and there is no tolerance for that behavior at our arena," the spokesperson said. "We are investigating the incident to identify the suspect."

McLeod's tweet of the video was viewed more than 1 million times and urged anyone to send him a direct message if they know who the Rangers fan is.

The Devils defeated the Rangers 4-0 in Game 7, advancing to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. New Jersey will take on the Carolina Hurricanes Wednesday night in Raleigh, North Carolina.
