Bruins sign David Pastrnak to six-year, $40 million extension

The Boston Bruins have signed David Pastrnak to a six-year, $40 million contract extension, the team announced on Thursday.
The deal stretches to the 2022-23 season and averages out to $6.67 million a year for the 21-year-old forward.

Pastrnak, who was selected by Boston in the first round of the 2014 draft, is coming off his best season — with career highs in goals (34), assists (36) and points (70).
For his success in 2016-17, he became the youngest player to win the Zlata Hokejka Award, given annually to the best hockey player hailing from the Czech Republic.
