Hockey world reacts to passing of Flyers founder Ed Snider

Philly sports icon Snider passes away
The Flyers announced Monday morning that Snider, 83, the most senior of NHL owners, died of complications resulting from his battle with bladder cancer.

From the time he brought hockey to Philadelphia in 1967, Ed Snider was the undisputed heart and soul of the Flyers. He was as passionate about the craft as any player in his team's jersey, and his legacy in professional and youth hockey are a testament to that love. When the Flyers clinched a playoff spot on Saturday, players said they were most thrilled to have accomplished the feat for Snider. After his passing was announced Monday by the Flyers, the hockey world weighed in on one of the all-time greats, in Philadelphia and beyond.
