Florida Panthers victory tour: Where will Stanley Cup turn up next?
Fresh off winning a second consecutive NHL title, the Florida Panthers are now set to begin one of hockey's most storied traditions: the Stanley Cup tour.
After claiming the championship, each member of the winning team gets a chance to possess the storied trophy for a day (or sometimes longer). And oh, the stories it could tell ...
The Cup has housed countless adult beverages and visited many interesting locales over its 132-year history as players continue to find unique ways to celebrate.
In fact, the Panthers wasted no time after defeating the Edmonton Oilers 5-1 in the Game 6 clincher, showing up bright and early on a Wednesday morning in Fort Lauderdale Beach to show off the Cup for revelers at the iconic Elbo Room.
Where will the Cup turn up next?
It will certainly make an appearance at the Panthers' victory parade. That will be held on Sunday, June 22, the NHL announced. It will start at noon and proceed on state road A1A along Fort Lauderdale Beach, where it was last year.
Where the Cup will be after that is anyone's guess. Stay tuned.
