WADA suspends UCLA lab from testing specific substances for three months
The World Anti-Doping Agency on Tuesday announced a three-month suspension of the UCLA laboratory for testing of specific substances.
The suspension, which began on Wednesday, came after a WADA review that found “non-conformities with best practice.”
The UCLA lab can continue with regular anti-doping testing but must get a second opinion from another WADA-accredited lab for any report of an adverse analytic finding for four substances: the glucocorticoids prednisolone and prednisone and the anabolic steroids boldenone and boldione..
According to WADA’s announcement, the suspension allows for monitoring to ensure a return to full compliance.
The UCLA lab can appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport within 21 days.
