Shaun White can add to his Olympic medal haul when he goes for his fourth gold medal in the men's halfpipe final on Thursday.

White, 35, has already announced that the 2022 Beijing Games will be his last.

But White will have some stiff competition just to reach the podium. He had the fourth-best score during qualifying behind Japan's Ayumu Hirano (first) and Ruka Hirano (third) and Australia's Scotty James, who qualified second. Hirano has won two silver medals in the event – in 2014 and 2018.

If he captures gold, White will become just the second Winter Games Olympian to win gold at four different games, following his triumphs at the 2006, 2010 and 2018 Olympics.
