Bayern opens Bundesliga campaign against Wolfsburg
FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Bayern Munich will kick off its Bundesliga title defense at home to Wolfsburg on Aug. 22.
Bayern's opening match pits Pep Guardiola's team against the 2009 champion, last season's fifth-place finisher.
The German Football League said on Tuesday that runner-up Borussia Dortmund will host Bayer Leverkusen in the first round.
Cologne, returning to the topflight after a two-year absence, starts with a home match against Hamburger SV, which narrowly escaped relegation last season.
The other promoted team, Paderborn, will kick off its first Bundesliga season at home against Mainz.
