Copa America Centenario: United States vs. Colombia time, TV schedule, info
The 2016 Copa America Centenario gets underway Friday, with the host United States facing Colombia in the tournament’s opening match.
The tournament is normally held every four years in South America, but the 2016 edition marks the 100th anniversary and features six teams from CONCACAF in addition to all 10 CONMEBOL countries.
After a disappointing 2015 and start to 2016, the United States has won four matches in a row, including three friendlies in the build-up to the tournament. Most recently was a 4-0 win against Ecuador on Saturday.
Colombia – currently ranked third in the world – reached the quarterfinals of last summer’s Copa America as well as the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup.
