2018 FA Cup final: Chelsea-Manchester United game time, how to watch

The 2018 FA Cup final will be played between Chelsea and Manchester United on Saturday, May 19, at Wembley Stadium in London. The FA Cup is recognized as the oldest soccer football tournament in the world, dating back to 1871.

The Premier League rivals met in the 2007 FA Cup final, a 1-0 win for Chelsea, which has won the FA Cup seven times (tied for fourth-most with Liverpool and Aston Villa in the tournament's 147-year history). Manchester United has won the FA Cup 12 times, which is the second-most behind Arsenal's 13 wins.

Here's everything else you need to know for the matchup:

TIME, TV INFO: Game broadcast begins on FOX at 12 p.m. ET. Streaming online on FOX Sports Go

LOCATION: Wembley Stadium, London, England.

WHAT TO WATCH

Conte's Chelsea finale?

Even if Chelsea wins the FA Cup final, coach Antonio Conte appears to be on his way out of the west London club. Conte completed his first season in charge a year ago by losing the FA Cup final to Arsenal but he had just collected the Premier League trophy. Relations with the club's hierarchy soured in the offseason and Chelsea mounted a pitiful defense of its title to finish in fifth place, missing out on Champions League qualification. Even though United is yet to collect silverware this season, Jose Mourinho at least guided the team to second place, its highest finish since Alex Ferguson's final title win before retiring in 2013.

Will Prince William attend game?

Prince William is due to serve as best man for his brother, Harry, at the royal wedding Saturday. But with the wedding and FA Cup final on the same day, things get a little tricky. William has the role of president of England’s Football Association (FA) among his vast array of titles and duties. Every year, the FA president is expected to be on hand at Wembley Stadium to witness the game and, most importantly, to present the trophy to the winner.

Elsewhere in Europe

The German Cup (or DFB-Pokal) between Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt will be played at 2 p.m. ET (on ESPNews and ESPN Deportes). Bayern Munich has won the German Cup 18 times, easily the most in that competition's history (Werder Bremen has the second-most wins with six). Bayern Munich's most recent German Cup win came in 2016 (Borussia Dortmund won the tournament last year). Eintracht Frankfurt has won the German Cup four times, with its most recent win coming in 1988.

Big doubleheader of soccer on FOX

Following the FA Cup final, FOX will air an intriguing Major League Soccer showdown between the Portland Timbers and Los Angeles FC (kickoff at 3 p.m. ET) at Providence Park in Portland. With a 6-2-2 record through its first 10 games in franchise history, LAFC is off to the best start ever for an MLS expansion team.
