MLS fans want to see this club more than Messi, Inter Miami in 2025. What you need to know
Move over, Lionel Messi and Inter Miami.
There’s apparently another Major League Soccer club fans want to see more.
Columbus Crew is the top in-demand MLS team for ticket sales on StubHub, taking the top spot from Inter Miami, the ticket company announced Thursday.
Still, Messi’s presence is significant. He continues to be the biggest draw in the sport.
Inter Miami will play in the most top 10 in-demand games for the second straight year, with seven of those matches being on the road. The average price of tickets sold for the seven road games is more than two times higher than the three home games in the top 10, the company said.
Messi and Inter Miami played in the top 25 most in-demand games last season.
“The Columbus Crew's increasing popularity following back-to-back MLS Cup [Playoffs] appearances has driven them to the top spot as the most in[1]demand team on StubHub,” company spokesman Adam Budelli said in a statement.
“As Messi enters his third season with Inter Miami, his presence remains a major draw on StubHub, fueling excitement and anticipation every time his team visits another city.”
The Crew and Inter Miami are followed by the San Jose Earthquakes, New England Revolution and the Houston Dynamo among the top five most in-demand MLS clubs.
The newest MLS franchise San Diego FC, Atlanta United, the New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union and Minnesota United FC round out the top 10.
StubHub says Columbus Crew ticket sales have improved 10 times compared to last season. They host Inter Miami in the best-selling game of the season on April 19 in Cleveland.
Fans from 48 countries are buying MLS tickets on StubHub with Canada and Messi’s home country of Argentina leading international sales.
