NWSL games Friday - Time, how to watch Angel City, Kansas City Current and more

The NWSL returns from a lengthy summer break with a full slate of games this weekend, with three high-profile matches taking place on Friday, Aug. 1.
With a break for national-team play followed by three major continental championships (Euro 2025, Women's Africa Cup of Nations, and the ongoing Copa América Femenina), the last games in league play came on June 22. Conveniently, that is the halfway mark for the regular season, with all teams having played 13 of 26 games.
Right out of the gate, fans will get to see if that stop in play has hurt two of the league's hottest teams, with Racing Louisville (6W-2D-5L) hosting first-place Kansas City Current (11W-0D-2L). Louisville went into the break having won five of seven games, the best form in the club's five-year existence. However, there is no bigger test than the Current, who entered the pause in the schedule on a six-game winning streak.
Friday's matches will also see NJ/NY Gotham FC (5W-3D-5L) head on the road to take on the Chicago Stars (1W-3D-9L), with the star-studded visitors looking to climb the standings after a middling start to the season. Finally, the Seattle Reign (6W-3D-4L) seem likely to give U.S. women's national team forward Mia Fishel her debut after signing her earlier this month. They host Angel City FC (4W-3D-6L).
