The 2023 World Cup continues Wednesday with a full slate of games, culminating with the United States squaring off in a rematch of the 2019 final.
Wednesday's matchups include Japan vs. Costa Rica, Spain vs. Zambia, Canada vs. Ireland and concludes with the U.S. facing the Netherlands.
Japan beat Zambia 5-0 in its opening game while Spain defeated Costa Rica 3-0 in the first group stage game.
The USWNT beat Vietnam 3-0 last Friday behind a two-goal performance from forward Sophia Smith. Lindsey Horan scored the third goal in the 77th minute to put the game out of reach.
The Netherlands also came away with a win in their first game, beating Portugal 1-0 behind an early goal from Stefanie van der Gragt.
Tuesday's action featured a 1-0 win by the Philippines over co-host New Zealand, while Switzerland and Norway battled to a 0-0 draw.
After two group stage games, Switzerland leads Group A with four points. New Zealand and the Philippines each have three points, while Norway has one point.
