RHP Masahiro Tanaka vs. RHP Justin Verlander

Tanaka (1-0, 1.46 ERA) allowed just one run in 6.2 innings in his last outing, a no-decision of a 3-1 loss to Detroit. He hasn't allowed a walk in his two starts (12.1 innings) this season. However, he is 0-2 with an 8.87 ERA in five career appearances vs. Houston.

Verlander (1-0, 4.09 ERA) is coming off a tough outing at Texas, yielding four runs on six hits and three walks in four innings. While he is 7-7 with a 3.49 ERA in 20 career starts vs. the Yankees, Verlander was 1-0 with an 0.61 ERA in two starts (14.2 innings) vs. them in 2018.
