MLB 2019 World Series Champion Odds Updated: One team now alone at the top

When we last looked at the future MLB future betting odds around the 2019 World Series Champion at the start of May, the Houston Astros (32-16), Los Angeles Dodgers (31-17) and New York Yankees (29-17) were all positioned at +550 odds.

Since then, the Astros have emerged as the oddsmakers' most-likely option to win the 2019 World Series Championship. The Astros are now at +450, just slightly better than the Dodgers at +500.

The Dodgers ( +500) and Yankees ( +700) are still among the top three, but no longer share even odds with the Astros.

Moving Betting Line: 2019 World Series Future Odds Notes

Jon Durr - Paste BN Sports

  • The Chicago Cubs' (27-18) jumped considerably, going from +2800 about a month ago to +1300. That puts them among the top-six MLB clubs with May quickly coming to an end.
  • While still high on the list, the Yankees going from +550 to +700 shocked me a bit. It's possibly to get more action on them. Considering they're .630 on the season and leading the AL East (granted, by just a game over Tampa Bay and 4.5 ahead of Boston), they've done that while dealing with a metric ton of injury problems. When this team gets fully healthy, seeing them with the lowest odds wouldn't be a surprise. In other words, if you believe in the Yankees as a World Series contender, now is the time to invest for a better ROI…
  • The Tampa Bay Rays (27-17) are getting some love from the oddsmakers, seeing their odds change by -600. They're now +1400 and among the top 10 teams in the league.
  • The Arizona Diamondbacks (25-23), barely above .500 ball, saw a massive jump, going from +7500 to +3700 and being in the top-half of the league.
  • Speaking of big changes to the odds, the Los Angeles Angels (22-25) - maybe just because of OF Mike Trout, who seems to just get better and better each year - were +10000 about a month ago. They've seen their future odds go to +6500, a considerable change thus far for a team below .500 on the season.

  • A hot start by the Seattle Mariners (23-27) where their betting line was +3700 saw that number change considerably, with the M's now +7000 after slowing down. They're 3-7 in their last 10 games.
  • The Oakland Athletics (23-25) took a massive +3500 point swing the wrong direction, too. They're now +8500 after being +5000 a month ago.
