RHP Domingo German vs. RHP Zach Plesac
The 26-year-old German has a 3.66 ERA through 64 innings and 11 starts (plus one relief appearance) but he allowed total earned runs in 8 2/3 innings over his last two starts coming into Friday. He had previously picked up six straight wins with no more than four earned runs allowed in any one of them. He's striking out 9.98 hitters per nine with 2.53 walks allowed.
Plesac, 24, comes into his third start of the year with a 1.46 ERA through 12 1/3 innings. He's struck out nine with two walks and one home run surrendered. He's allowing flyball and hard-contact rates of 39.4 percent.
