The Dodgers arrive in Orange County off taking 2-of-3 from the San Francisco Giants over the weekend. They are now 19-5 (with a 2.72 ERA) over their last 24 games. The Angels are 5-5 over their last 10G against the Dodgers (2017-19); they lead the all-time series, 66-54.

LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu vs. RHP Griffin Canning

Ryu is on an absolute roll, having allowed just 2 ER since May 7. During that stretch (44.2 IP), the Dodger lefty has indeed benefited by generous rates around the edges (BABIP, strand, HR/f), but he's still been impressive in just about any measure (including xFIP which sits at 2.93). Ryu has exhibited an uptick in velocity, better control and a regained ability to induce ground balls at an elite rate. His cutter spells trouble for the Angels, who have been woeful against the fastball offshoot.

Canning owns a 3.52 ERA/4.30 xFIP over 7 GS. The 23-year-old has given Los Angeles decent length, going six-plus innings in 3-of-his-last-4 starts. Canning is toting around a .232 BABIP, a number especially low against lefty batters (and the Dodgers have more LHBs than most clubs).

• The Angels own a subpar .714 OPS versus left-handers. Overall, LAA has sported an above-average offense (.772 OPS, 5.1 RPG). The Angels are in the top-10 at home (.799 OPS) and in the last two weeks (.826).

• The Dodgers (.812 OPS overall) are swung around to their best platoon splits when facing right-handed pitchers. A slightly left-leaning lineup has cranked out a high-contact .835 OPS against righties.
• For the season, the two bullpens rank as slightly below average, but lately the LAD relief corps has been particularly subpar. Over the last two weeks, the Dodgers own a high-walk 5.43 xFIP, a number that ranks 27 ^th in the league.
