The Washington Nationals (40-40) visit the slumping Detroit Tigers (26-50) for the opener of a three-game set at Comerica Park Friday at 7:10 p.m. Eastern.

Thursday: The Nationals won on the road against the Miami Marlins 8-5 to complete a three-game sweep and reach .500 for the first time since they were 11-11. The Tigers lost their seventh game in a row with a 3-1 setback against the Texas Rangers, getting swept in three at home.

RHP Anibal Sanchez vs. LHP Daniel Norris

Sanchez is 3-6 with a 4.02 ERA and 65/29 K-BB ratio in 14 starts. Last outing: Allowed four runs on six hits and a walk with six strikeouts in six innings of a no-decision, home loss vs. the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. Misc.: 3-0 with a 2.35 ERA in his last six starts as the Nats went 5-1.
