Chicago White Sox at Oakland Athletics: Projected Starting Pitchers
RHP Reynaldo Lopez vs. LHP Brett Anderson
Lopez has been a train wreck this season, posting a dismal 4-8 record, 6.34 ERA and shabby 1.58 WHIP across 98 innings in 18 starts. He hasn't exactly torn it up at home, but he is even worse on the road, posting a 1-4 record and 6.59 ERA with 30 earned runs allowed in 41 innings away from home. He has also served up 23 homers in just 98 innings.
Anderson will be attempting to join the double-digit club in wins, as he enters 9-5 with a 3.86 ERA and .315 opponent on-base percentage across 102 2/3 innings. He is 7-2 with a 2.75 ERA across 68 2/3 innings at night, but he has posted a 2-3 record, 6.09 ERA and 1.79 WHIP in 34 innings during day games, so that's a bit of a concern.

- The White Sox have won just once in the past five games overall, and they're 1-6 in the past seven games on the road.
- Chicago is just 7-19 in the past 26 against American League West opponents, while going 2-6 in the past eight road games against a left-handed starting pitcher.
- The Athletics are 4-1 in the past five home games, and 25-7 in their past 32 at home against teams with a road winning percentage under .400.
- Oakland has posted a ridiculous 41-10 record in their past 51 games against AL Central foes.
- The A's are 16-5 in the past 21 vs. RHP while managing a 4-1 record in the past five at home against righties.
Chicago White Sox at Oakland Athletics: Picks and Betting Tips
Moneyline: The White Sox ( +170) are risky business with Lopez on the hill, and they're not worth the risk. The Athletics (-200) are too much chalk, so you're better off playing the run line instead.
Run Line: The White Sox ( +1.5, +100) are a tempting play at even money, but Lopez has just been so shaky this season. The A's ( -1.5, -120) are the much better play despite Anderson's struggles under the sun. Oakland has dominated AL Central foes, and the Pale Hose aren't exactly the cream of the crop.
Over/under: The OVER ( 9.5, -115) is a whopping 11-1 across the past 12 meetings in this series, including seven of the past eight in Oakland. Anderson's struggles in daytime games coupled with Lopez's frequent long balls allowed make the over an attractive play.
