The Kansas City Royals (38-64) and Atlanta Braves (60-42) play the second of a three-game series at Suntrust Field Wednesday at 7:20 p.m. Eastern.

Tuesday: Kansas City surprised Atlanta 5-4 Tuesday night in what was a bit of a sluggish effort from the Braves. Atlanta's pitching has been a little inconsistent of late.

RHP Brad Keller vs. RHP Julio Teheran

Keller is 6-9 with a 4.16 ERA and a 91/57 K-BB ratio in 21 starts. Last outing: Keller was able to weather the 100-degree heat index as he scattered nine hits and two earned runs over 6-plus innings. The win was important but his control was better - walking just two and striking out seven batters.

Teheran is 5-6 with a 3.61 ERA and a 102/52 K-BB ratio in 21 starts. Last outing: Teheran's two-seamed fastball had excellent control once again versus the Washington Nationals. Ten of the 19 two-seamers went for strikes as he set the tone. Overall, the Atlanta pitcher went six strong innings.
