Prediction

Houston 34, Oakland 24

Moneyline ( ?)

The Texans are a healthy moneyline favorite (-304) for a team that is currently struggling, which make the Raiders (+240) arguably the more logical play, but this has the look of a season-defining game for Deshaun Watson and a Texans defense that has been far from dominant. The best course of action may be to avoid the moneyline because the tax is too steep for a team that isn't a lock to win.

Against the Spread ( ?)

The Texans (-121) are a 6½-point favorite, primarily because when Oakland loses, it loses big. Houston is coming of a critical road loss to the Colts and need to have a big game to remain playoff relevant. This is a Texans team than ran off a nine-game winning streak last season after a slow start and they have the firepower on both sides of the ball to cover the spread. Lay the points.

Over/Under ( ?)

This is the highest over/under of the week in the NFL at 51½ (-115 over, -106 under) because both teams are coming off games where their defenses got shredded. Both teams are likely to come out throwing and, while getting to 52 points is never easy in the NFL, these two teams have the big-play ability to hit the number or exceed it. The play is taking the OVER (-115).
