Going purely by the Official World Golf Ranking measure, Tiger's about where he should be. Johnson seems to be an outlier going into his fourth year since his last major. Alternatively, Thomas offers a slightly better value.

Tiger's best chance is at Augusta National, where he'll be looking to win back-to-back green jackets and tie Jack Nicklaus' all-time record of six Masters victories. A win would also move Woods within two of Nicklaus' record 18 major championships.

Woods' best value to win a major is at The Open. It's one of the two major championships he has won just three times. Two of those victories were at St. Andrews with the other at Royal Liverpool. Tiger placed T-4 at the 2003 Open Championship at Royal St. George's. He didn't participate the last time it was at the venue in 2011.

Will Tiger Woods win a major in 2020?

Woods ignited the golf world last April when he won his fifth green jacket. Now, it's impossible to count him out until the day he finally steps away. He opened his season with a victory at the Zozo Championship in Japan, and he's likely to tailor the rest of his schedule around what gives him the best chances of closing in on Nicklaus' all-time record.

Instead of betting him to win "a major" I would bet him individually at both the Masters and The Open.
