2021 Super Bowl LV betting trends: Which teams are being bet on the most?

With spring comes new hope for every NFL fan base on their team's chances of winning the Super Bowl. Sports bettors are also busy placing early NFL futures action on who they think will win it all. Which teams are receiving the most bets? We asked that very question of BetMGM sportsbook.

New to sports betting? A future bet is a wager on an event down the road, often many months ahead. The odds are typically longer and more profitable if you're able to nail the winning ticket.

Super Bowl 55: Top 10 teams bet on

Data via BetMGM, last updated March 22nd.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (+600)

The Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, return most of their key starters and look to run it back again for back-to-back championships. They're the early favorite among oddsmakers to win it all again, too.

If you're new to sports betting, a $10 wager on the Chiefs would return a $60 profit if the Chiefs do, in fact, lift the Lombardi Trophy in back-to-back seasons.

2. Baltimore Ravens (+700)

Following a 14-2 regular season that saw them become the AFC's No. 1 seed, many had the Ravens winning it all a year ago. They remain one of the better squads in the AFC and QB Lamar Jackson has quickly proved to be a difference maker. His third year could be the charm. For every $10 wagered on Baltimore to win it all, you'd see $70 in profit with a Super Bowl victory.

3. San Francisco 49ers (+800)

The 49ers lost last season's Super Bowl, but they return a solid portion of their talented team that went 13-3. Can this be the year they take it to the next level and win it all? You'd return $80 profit on every $10 wagered if they do.

4. New Orleans Saints (+1200)

QB Drew Brees re-signed with New Orleans as they look to make another run at it after a 13-3 2019 campaign. Talented across the board and returning most of their key starters, time is running out for Brees to win his second Super Bowl. But, with Brady joining the Bucs, New Orleans' division got a bit tougher…

5. New England Patriots (+2000)

The Patriots, even without Brady, remain one of the top-10 teams in the eyes of the oddsmakers to win a championship. Bill Belichick has work to do in finding a new QB1, plus giving that TBD player more weapons on offense. If you trust in Belichick and the Patriots way, a $10 wager here returns $200 in profit.

6. Seattle Seahawks (+2000)

QB Russell Wilson guided the Seahawks to an 11-5 record a year ago, despite questionable talent around him. Some off-season moves and maturity from some of the team's younger players could have Seattle in the thick of things again.

7. Las Vegas Raiders (+6000)

The Raiders are still re-tooling in head coach Jon Gruden's image. Will a change of scenery and new impact rookies be enough to get them over the hump? They were just 7-9 a year ago and still play in a competitive AFC West, which has the Chiefs sitting firmly on top.

8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1600)

It almost feels like we're in the Twilight Zone. The Buccaneers adding QB Tom Brady put them on the map for early Super Bowl bets. The odds on the Bucs became much shorter once Brady agreed to terms, so you're not going to see as much reward now (+1600) that those putting $50 down on them at +6500 (to win $3,300) did, but $160 profit on every $10 wagered is still a nice payday should Brady win his seventh Super Bowl championship.

9. Arizona Cardinals (+5000)

The Cardinals were just 5-10-1 last year with a rookie head coach and quarterback, but folks are buying into the hype of how explosive this offense might be with the addition of WR DeAndre Hopkins, veteran WR Larry Fitzgerald returning and a full-year of RB Kenyan Drake busting big plays. If you're buying, a $10 wager returns a $500 profit with an Arizona championship.

10. New York Giants (+8000)

The Giants are among the teams with the longest odds, oddly enough tied with the Dolphins and Jets. While $800 profit on every $10 wagered is nothing to ignore, it still feels like this would be a foolish bet.
