Prediction

Nationals 7, Phillies 2

Moneyline (ML)

Washington (+100) is in the midst of a disappointing title defense, mostly marred by injury, but don't let that get in the way of youBETTING NATIONALS (+100). The Nationals are currently 4.5 games back of the Atlanta Braves for first in the NL East.

The Phillies (-110) broke a 9-game losing skid in Nationals Park with their victory Tuesday and are third in the NL East.

The Nats have gotten the better of Nola throughout his career, especially over their last five meetings, as he is 0-2 with a 6.92 ERA in those games. Philadelphia has the worst bullpen ERA (7.71 ERA) in the majors by 2.12 points.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

Even Washington's mediocre offense (4.78 runs scored per game) should be able to do damage to Nola, the bullpen or both. Corbin has looked great against the Phillies recently. He is 3-0 with a 2.29 ERA over his last five starts versus Philadelphia.

I am TAKING NATIONALS -1.5 (+190) on the alternate run line because the head-to-head trends and starting pitching matchup sets up nicely for Washington.

New to sports betting? A $100 bet on the Nationals -1.5 (+190) on the alternate run line pays a $190 profit if Washington beats Philadelphia by two or more runs.

Over/Under (O/U)

I got the Phillies-Nationals going slightly OVER 8.5 (-110). It's only a lean because Corbin tends to pitch well versus Philadelphia and the Under is 5-1-3 in the last 9 meetings.
