Best NFL underdog picks and predictions for Week 9
Week 9 of the NFL season begins Thursday night. With 4 teams on their bye week, that means 14 total games to bet on. Last week was pretty good for the underdog. Six underdogs covered the spread. Only 4, though, won their games outright.
Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook NFL odds and lines, and tab the best NFL Week 9 underdog bets to cash in on among SportsbookWire's NFL expert picks and predictions.
Last week's 3 best underdog picks went 2-1. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers covered the 10-point spread in a 6-point loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Cincinnati Bengals beat the favored San Francisco 49ers outright, while the New England Patriots did not cover the 7.5-point spread, losing by 14 to the Miami Dolphins. My underdog picks are 15-9 through 8 weeks.

TITANS (+125) at Steelers – Thursday 8:15 p.m. (Amazon Prime Video)
QB Will Levis had a huge NFL debut, throwing 4 touchdown passes last week in the Titans' 28-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons, 3 to WR DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins, officially questionable to play, is expected to play, so that connection will be there again.
Pittsburgh allows the 6th-most rushing yards per game in the league and face RB Derrick Henry, who rushed for over 100 yards last week.
The Steelers have covered the spread in every win and have lost every game in which they did not.
COMMANDERS (+135) at Patriots – 1 p.m. (FOX)
The Patriots have been held under 20 points in 6 of their last 7 games. They have allowed 21 or more in 5 straight and 30 or more in 3 of those 5 games.
The Commanders put up 31 in a loss to Philadelphia last week and have scored 20 more points in 6 of their 8 games this season. They have scored in the 30s 3 times. It might be a slow, dreadful game, but I like Washington.
SEAHAWKS +5.5 (-110) at Ravens – 1 p.m. (CBS)
The Ravens scored 31 points against the Cardinals in Week 8 but managed only 268 yards because Arizona's offense turned the ball over 4 times between interceptions and failed 4th downs.
They struggled to slow undrafted rookie RB Emari Demercado in the first half, who is nowhere near the player RB Kenneth Walker is for the Seahawks.
Seattle's run defense is elite and just added DL Leonard Williams to their defensive line. Opponents have been held to 20 or fewer points in 4 consecutive games.
